NOTE: IM AN ATHEIST.
Personally, I know that all prayer is worthless, but Islamic prayer is an interesting subject. What many people dont understand is that Islamic-prostate prayer ritual is the key to their brainwashing processes.
The act of meditation or "prayer" is a proven technique in terms of relaxation and control over processes previously believed to be "autonomic".
Buddhist monks or "Yogis" have proven, under scientific scrutiny, that these techniques can be employed to lower the heart rate beyond what was previously thought to be within ones control.
So, we know that mediation and prayer can create various feelings, which can be used by religions to create a "spritual" environment for which a clergy can claim a "divine source".
No religion on earth does a better job of leveraging this mediation effect, for its own sake, than Islam. Islam saturates a Muslims life with it by making it a mandatory 5 times a day exercise.
Islamic prayer. Is it the best way to pray?
1) No. It really does help to have a real God to pray to.
Reply:I'm muslim so the answer to this is yes, it is the best way to pray.
Reply:Personally you know that all prayer is worthless? Personally, I know that your opinion is worthless
Reply:You pray according to your faith? Why would a buddist pray an Islamic prayer and vice versa? And why pray if you don't believe in any faith?
Reply:After I read the first sentence I realized you are a complete idiot.
Reply:Islam and Atheist are similar then.
Reply:yes it is the besy way. Because the body movements and the recitings of the surahs makes u fully concentrated and detaches u from the outer world.
Reply:Wow. I can't believe you spent sooo much time typing this up. Who seriously cares? If you believe that prayer is worthless, than why does this affect you?
Reply:You call yourself "ubermensch." This concept was used by the Nazis to justify their atrocities against inferior human beings, aka "untermenschen." Are you a Nazi, and, if not, why take on a Nazi ideal as your internet handle?
Reply:Why dont you find it yourself. Try the Islamic prayer and decide.
Reply:It is the best way to pray it's the way of the prophets Moses and Jesus both prostrated in the Bible prostration during prayer is found in Matthew 26:39, Psalms 95:6, Joshua 5:14, 1Kings 18:42, Numbers 20:6, and Genesis 17:3. The best believers are those who follow the examples of the prophets and Muslims do this. We also wash five times a day before praying so our prayers make us super hygienic. Also being an Atheist you are brainwashed by materialism and Shaitan, He wins not by making people do evil as much as making people not believe in or worship God, for to God that is the worst sin.
Reply:I believe in God still but many religions brainwash their congregation and it's really sad and scary.Look at Jim Jones as he thought he was some God and had all those people ' women '
man' children drink poison kool-aid and the all died ' they shot some congressman who came to check out his palace... I see many people who claim they kill for their God but if my God said i had to kill to be happy and make happy' i would run as fast as i could and never turn or go back again...
Reply:What makes u say that it is a brainwashing processes? Do u really know the actual reason to why we pray and what the prayers are for?
It is a relaxation becos we have the answers to y we are here on earth and the things we go thru on earth,be it good or bad.
Islam nvr tells us to recite without understanding what its all abt. In fact,we have to know what we are reciting before we can have the spiritual feeling and a sense of peace.
For the separation and all,u don't have to go there. Coz obviously ur mind will never understand the higher level of this religion.
Reply:there are many benefits in Muslims prayers read this article:
""Such research may attract Muslims and non-Muslims' attention," Abdullah said.(Reuters)
CAIRO — The initial results of an ongoing study by Malaysia's top university has proved that postures of the daily Muslim prayers have physical benefits to the human body, the New Straits Times reported on Wednesday, December 13.
"The study investigates the physiological interactions and effects of the Muslim prayer postures on the human body," Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi told the Third Kuala Lumpur International Conference on Biomedical Engineering, currently in session.
The study, conducted by the University of Malaya's Biomedical Engineering Department, concluded that postures during the prayers are beneficial to the heart, spine and increasing the capacity for memory and attention.
Muslims pray five times a day, which each prayer made of a series of postures and movements, each set of which is called a rak'ah.
The faithful starts in a standing posture then bows down with his/her hands placed on his/her knees keeping the back straight.
The worshiper then returns to the standing position before prostrating with forehead, nose, hands, knees, and bottoms of the toes touching the ground. The forearms and elbows should be raised off the floor.
Prime Minister Abdullah said the study affirmed the power of prayer in a person's life.
"Since the majority of our population are Muslims, it is both of interest and importance that we not only understand the spiritual benefits of salat, but also ... its biological and medical effects," said Abdullah."

Reply:I know you don't believe in the power of prayer, but I do, only not the way Muslims pray. It's an act, for show (especially if you whack your head and leave a mark - the sign of a pious Muslim) and "earning" your way to Paradise. One Muslim put some references to the Bible in, as if those point to what Muslims do. They don't. In most of those cases, the prophets fell prostrate for being in the presence of God. It wasn't a demanded, rehearsed, or a memorized ritual. It was natural. That's how prayer should be, natural, from your heart, filled with emotion. I believe meditation is different, does need more experience, concentration and has more of a physiological aspect, as you pointed out. How can you communicate with God if you are too busy worrying about getting your movements right, recitations correct, not passing gas or yawning, starting and finishing in the amount of time allowed, and whacking your head (there are many other rules to islamic praying)? Doesn't sound relaxed, spiritual or natural to me. It also goes against the way Jesus told us to pray, so the islamic way cannot be the best or even right.
EDIT: You need to allow email sometimes. What happened to your question about Steven Curtis Chapman's daughter? Were you violated?
