Is it ok to drink beer after takin muscle relaxers?

I was drinking corona beer an hour right after I took these medications:





Ibuprohpen(for my herniated disc lower back pain)


Singulair(for my asthma)


Claritin





Will I be ok or can i get sick?I also wanted to know is it ok if i take Flexaril(muscle relaxer) with beer?

Yes you will get sick, your bottle should say not to take with alcohol, and even those medications that don't have that warning you should still avoid any alcoholic beverage since you don't know the outcome of mixing them with medications

Reply:You shouldn't drink with any medications. If it was just ONE beer, then you're ok. However, know that alcohol and ibuprofen increase risk of stomach bleeding. Singulair and Claritin and beer could severely sedate you. Same with Flexeril. If you have a drinking problem, or just like to drink a beer daily, talk to your doctor about it when he/she is prescribing medications for you.

It's not that bad to drink with your other meds, but muscle relaxants should do enough for you so that you don't need the beer.





Besides.. you could go into a coma or die. Seriously.
Reply:Do not drink alcohol while taking ibuprofen, it could cause stomach bleeding. Its fine with singulair, there are no known interactions between alchol and Singulair. For Claritin there is often a reaction between antihistamines and alcohol so don't mix that with alcohol either.

Reply:Never mix alchohol with any muscle relaxers. It's a downer also...mixed with the alchohol can suppress your respiratory drive in your brain....so when you fall asleep...you may stop breathing.
