I am building an electric go-cart, and i need a motor that can pull 250lb. at 30mph that is under $250. if it isnt under 250 then how much will it cost? and where can i find it. also include how much watts, volts, and whatever else it will need.
How much horsepower will i need and how much will it cost?
The speed can be achive wit hthe correct gearing. If you can build a set up simulare to a shift selector on a 10 speed bike, you should be able to go faster then 30 MPH. the motor to start out with would be one from say a segway or a wheel chair. they can move 250 lbs with little effort, and parts avalibility would be pretty common. It's a good place to start. As far as cost I would think around 300 if you can find them used.
Reply:go find your self a old ecletric golf cart that someone has junked out. pull the motor and the axel assembly out theres your total drive train and i say$250 is a good ball bark firgure for just a parts one ok and hey nice thinking with gas prices theses days
