Provera what can it do?

I started taking Provera on weds to induce a period, I had cramps over the weekend but just had light bleeding but still had to use a tampon, I seem to have finished now and the doc told me to take the tablets for 5 days, do you think thats it or will I have a much heavier bleed, are periods that are induced with provera much lighter?

Provera what can it do?
Well I was prescribed it a few mos. back.... and it made me worse.... It was suppose to help with my irregular bleeding... But after that I ended up getting on birth control and taking those for 3 mos and now Im off and Im trying to see where Im @ as far my screwed up hormones... If u have any questions feel free to e-mail me
Reply:Provera has sideaffects such as breakthrough bleeding, spotting, changes in or loss of menstrual flow, that is if is taken for longer periods of time such as for 6 months. yet for periodic bleeding or no period it is said to use it only for 5-10 days during the second half of your period. It does differ for each individual. sometimes you will get heavier periods and then other times you'll get the lighter flow....
Reply:I was on provera in 2006, I had a bad reaction from the medicine. I was given the prescription as well to induce bleeding. And I did start bleeding, however, I lost my vision for about 4 days. I can see now, but it started w/ me geting blurred vision.. 3 days later, I was totally blind. I was dealing with this vission thing for 1 1/2 years.

So I am fine now. but u always ned to check the side effects of any medication
Reply:Heya,

Yes provera can injuce much lighter almost brownish bleeding, but it can get a heavier bleed depending on your hormones. But i think for you that was a short bleed and now it is finished. Just start taking your tablets in 5 days time.

Hope i helped x
