I have a clear vaginal discharge, it can get itchy?
It seems like a Candidiasis. If you dont want to tell your mom, consult a doctor. It is an STD.
Reply:that's normal...the itchiness is probably because you don't use anything and its annoying when you're wet. try using pantiliners and put some feminine powder on it.
don't worry, its totally normal!
LOL @the people saying it's an STD or an infection. You guys don't know what you're talking about. Don't listen to them, what's happening isn't anything to be concerned over and you're getting your period soon!
Reply:hmm this is serious. u contact me i will check u then let u know whats probelm u have...
Reply:Sounds like maybe an infection. You didn't say if you were sexually active or not, but if no, then there is no way that you can have an STD. More likely just some kind of yeast infection. Don't be embarrassed to ask your mom, or go to a doctor, it is really no big deal! =)
Reply:This occurs at any age or it's just a normal discharge that we produce before we ovulate/period. The itchyness can be an infection from scratching or dirt. But the discharge, that is usually how it starts and most of us don't notice it. Clear/white discharge is normal and healthy. It's what helps pass the eggs through the uterus. I remember getting that clear discharge before I got my first period. I didn't know what it was and saw that/freaked and yes it dried yellow too in my underwear sometimes. I asked mom what that was, she explained the above. So this probably just means you are going to be getting your period soon. You should always communicate these things with your mom! This way to be prepared so if anything is wrong, it can be fixed instead of prolonged to other problems. I know it's embarassing to tell our mom's these things as we get older, but the truth is, they are the best person to go to for any concerns and once you do, it gets more comfortable and puts you at ease every time. Keeping our mom's in the dark only makes them feel bad. I hope I helped!
Oh don't listen to that STD talk especially if you are not sexually active and not started your periods yet. Some people overreact to negative before they look into these things. It's best to know what they are talking about before they speak instead of scaring someone. I am speaking from experience and very well educated on these matters. So don't worry about that other comment!
Reply:This should help you decide.
Once you start puberty a white and/or clear, non-foul smelling discharge (mucous) is normal. The vagina is self-cleaning. You will also have your own 'scent' (musky) and it will smell stronger to you than to others. This same discharge increases the closer you get to ovulation and when you are sexually aroused. Trust me, you don't ever want it to go away.
If it's drying yellow you are fine as discharge will dry yellow when exposed to air. If it's coming out yellow you probably have a bacterial infection.
You can have the normal discharge for weeks, months or even years before getting your first period.
Part of growing up and becoming mature is the willingness to talk to your mother and see a doctor when needed.
Different Types of Discharge:
White: Thick, white discharge is common at the beginning and end of your cycle. Normal white discharge is not accompanied by itching. If itching is present, thick white discharge can indicate a yeast infection.
Clear and stretchy: This is "fertile" mucous and means you are ovulating.
Clear and watery: This occurs at different times of your cycle and can be particularly heavy after exercising.
Yellow or Green: May indicate an infection, especially if thick or clumpy like cottage cheese or has a foul odor.
Brown: May happen right after periods, and is just "cleaning out" your vagina. Old blood looks brown.
Different types of infections:
Signs of yeast infections:
White, cottage cheese-like discharge
Swelling and pain around the vulva
Intense itching
Signs of bacterial vaginosis:
A white, gray or yellowish vaginal discharge
A fishy odor that is strongest after sex or after washing with soap
Itching or burning
Slight redness and swelling of the vagina or vulva
Signs of trichomoniasis
A watery, yellowish or greenish bubbly discharge
An unpleasant odor
Pain and itching when urinating
Most apparent after your period
Reply:It looks like a infection go to Walgreen's or CVS and buy a Cream that they sale for that . it is only for 7 days it stops the itchy and it will make you better. also use the ALOA Vera you know the real plat and put it down there ( the egg white saliva looking thing that they have inside ) . and please take care because it probably was a Sex transmitted .
take care :)
Reply:Don't be scared. If it is an infection, it can be treated. The longer you wait to get it taken care of, the worse it can get. Sometimes, vaginal discharges can come before you start your periods because of hormone changes.
I know it can be embarrassing because, it's your body. But you shouldn't let it bother you. The only way to tell for sure what it causing it, is to go see a doctor. While you may think telling your Mom will be hard, she has probably been through things like that and it will feel so much better to have her there to give you support.. Just take a deep breath and get it checked.
Reply:Sounds like you may have an infection or something. Probably nothing major, but don't be embarrased. I'm sure your mom has dealt with anything and everything when it comes to vaginas. Go talk to your mom! She may need to take you to a doc. If you're embarrased to talk to your mom, how will you talk to a doc? Its OKAY! Don't be afraid.
