Halo 3 cheating is it possible?

Me and my boys play halo 3 live and they say people can mod and cheat. Everything I hear and read says no.

It seems sometime you will run into people that just wont die, or it takes a lot more to kill them. Also, I have noticed that glitches seem to play a part sometimes for others???

Halo 3 cheating is it possible?
THIS IS THE REAL ANSWER--YES there ARE modders in halo 3, but NOT on xbox live. you can cheat and mod, but you can only do it at the convenience of your own home on local. xbox live would ban your account the second you log into matchmaking, but there aren't cheats like invinicibility or auto aim or stuff like that---you can't do that in halo 3 because halo 3 has a different setting module from halo 2. halo 2 you could mod b/c customs games were the EXACT same as matchmaking, only people were randomly brought to play each other. your settings with auto-aim and custom stuff were in custom games--you could run quickly if you modded it. halo 3 is different-you can't mod it because it basically streams out the settings you have set and then sends back the info to your xbox---meaning that bungie HAS your settings and you just use the settings they give you. in halo3, also, the extra settings of being able to "modify" your player is involved in the custom games, and then disabled in matchmaking. so the worst possible thing is that your lagg prevents you from killing a person because he/she is really next to you but appears across the map.

Summary of answer- You can mod in custom games only, but there is no point due to the settings. you can't mod in matchmaking because the way bungie set up settings and the games does not let your mods touch your player in matchmaking. the only REAL mod is cloning-you shoot clones out of a plasma pistol-you can see all the medals and stuff from killing them. Lagg prevents you from killing some players. glitches are used by people who know how to use them-bxb glitch-only works sometimes but is just about an instant kill.
Reply:The only way I have heard of involves some technical crap you gotta do with your router so you remain host at all times. Pretty pointless really.

If you are finding people that take more killing than others, I'd put that down to lag, Halo 3 is one of the smoothest multiplayers but it's not gonna be perfect at all times.
Reply:the only glitchs in halo 3 is sooo B.S and theres no way to make them happen

and if you hack your xbox and know what you doing then you can have mods but if you dont do it right your xbox will be ban
Reply:It is not possible to cheat in Halo 3, but there are hacks that can help you play better. But if you get caught cheating you will be banned from xbox live.
Reply:cant help u about cheating and hacking but if u run into people that dont die they could be ghosts
Reply:no there is cheat codes for every game
Reply:try to search it on google or yahoo
Reply:I'd believe glitchers and exploiters but I doubt there's much in the way of cheaters, hackers, and modders. Generally speaking though glitches are fixed and players are reportable for abusing these things, no guarantee anything will change though. Having the odd hard encounter just seems like bad luck or skill, these things happen. Then again there are those players that like to accuse everybody of hacking because they completely blow at games and a lot of these myths and rumors get spread from these players.

EDIT:

I mean if you're smart enough and willing to spend the time and money there's basically no end to what a modder or hacker 'could' do but I think most people capable of this sort of thing ask themselves if the juice is worth the squeeze and in the case of Halo it probably won't be to most people. You'll encounter a hacker from time to time but I'm with the other guy that suggested a lag issue perhaps. Even people with good connections get random lag spikes from time to time.
Reply:Xbox sux ps3 is da **** u also might suc @ halo
