How long does it take to style a faux hawk?

I've been obsessed with getting a faux hawk for about 6 months now, and I've resolved to get one this summer. I'm thinking I'll be set with a shorter length (just above shoulders) and a really short top layer that I can gel up. It doesn't need to be wicked-stiff, I just want something funky to play with. I have pictures in mind already I'd just like to know...

How long does it take and how much product does one use to create a faux hawk? I just don't want to do this blind, y'know?

I have bangs as well, they're almost past my eyes. Do you think I should cut them shorter or include them in the hawk?

I dont know what a fuax hawk is. But i have a mohawk and its doesnt take that long. I use Bed Head brand Hard To Get its a spiking paste. As far as your bangs i would suggest getting it cut for hawk spiking and leave your bangs alone for now. after u start spiking your hawk play with your bangs and see how it would look with them cut as part of your hawk. if u like it cut them too if not thats cool too.
Reply:Depends on how good you are at styling; practice makes perfect! I had a 10" chelsea hawk. When I first had it it could take up to an hour and a half to get everything up. After doing it for awhile I could get a perfect fan in 20 min.
