A package that I want to refuse will arrive at my house while I'm on vacation for the next 2 weeks. If the package sits there for that long can I still write Refuse - Return to Sender when I get back and have it returned?
Will it be too late to refuse a package from the post office?
As long as you have not opened it, should be no problem
Reply:Yes. AS long as it is unopened; it is refused, no matter.
Reply:Only if you have not opened it because if it is open and something is wrong with the product you will be blamed and your money will not be returned to you
Reply:Nope. Just don't open it. Or better yet, prior to going on vacation you can contact your post office to hold your mail at the nearest location. That way you don't have to worry about any theft that could occur while on vacation.
Placing the stuff on hold just means you come to the post office when you get back, and you can immediately send the package back to where it came from while you are there picking it up.
Reply:If you ordered the package, and it gets stolen or damaged by sitting on your porch, you will still be liable for the cost. Easier to put a hold on mail delivery and do this when you get back.
Reply:I agree with "sensible..." put a hold on it to the post office by calling them and telling them so they should hold it for you up to 3 weeks.
