We took it to a mechanic and he flushed the coolant and refilled and it still seems to do the same thing. The pressure continues to raise above where it needs to be. The mechanic says it may be the compressor but not sure and says it will cost over $1000. and it may not even work???? HELP!!!
My 2005 Ford Five Hundred does not blow cold a/c when stopped, it only blows cold when I get the RPMs up.?
Are you past warranty?
Your mechanic may not know. Check with a Ford dealer.
Have you read the manual?
Maybe this is a safety feature to save the compressor and conserve gas.
Reply:At the company where i work we have some Ford vans. They are the same way. When they sit at idle the ac quits.Maybe your car is just the same. They work fine as soon as the rpm comes up.
