My boyfriend just told his family about us and that his family are not happy about us getting married and told me that he needs space to think and that he will call me soon. He is of Indian origin, so anyone who is, please help.

What does it mean if your bf needs space to think?
Well I think in that culture they are picky about who they marry,and what nationality, so his parents are likely influencing him to think about it and not choose you.
You also may be too young and they want him to not get married yet. It might not be over, but space in general is usually bad unless the relationship is very stressful and negative.
