ive been on the pill for about 2 years now and i wanted to know if im close to getting my period (21st day) is it safe if my boyfriend ejaculates inside me?

If a woman is taking the birth control correctly, meaning she takes it at approximately the same time every day, and has missed no pills, then it is an extremely effective means of contraception. Failure rates (i.e. the number of women who would get pregnant after a year of otherwise unprotected intercourse) is around 5%. This is less than 1/3 the failure rate for using condoms alone. Of course, the pill does not protect against sexually transmitted infections, and we strongly recommend using condoms along with the pill for this reason.








I believe so, I would suggest the safest sex to have is on your second week of the pill but two years? you should be okay...
Reply:Safe? Assuming that we are talking only about pregnancy and you are taking the pill exactly as prescribed then its probably as safe as it gets with having sex. With perfect use, the pill is 95-99% effective. Perfect use means taking it at or about the same time everyday. Skipping pills or significant delays, particularly with the lower dose pills, decreases their efficacy. If you have been taking it perfectly though, I would agree the likelihood of you getting pregnant, especially after 2 year is very very low.

While all birth control has some failure rate, if you've been taking it consistently and on time, it should be close to 0 failure rate.





In addition, since you said you are close to your period, you would be infertile anyway.





Unless he's been tested for STD's, I would advise against unprotected sex.
Reply:Assuming you are taking the pill every single day and you always take it right around the same time, then yes it's safe. But you have to remember there's always possibility. I got pregnant twice while on the pill, and I took it religiously at the same time every single day. (Now I have the IUD and no more babies yet!)
