Ok im 16 and 2 years ago in the middle of 9th grade i Got pretty sick with OCD and Generlized Anxitey Disorder im not going into details but i missed alot of school and had to drop out so this year i repeated 9th grade but i did this homeshcool online thing becuase i couldnt attend school at the end of this i found out the shcool was no acreddited so i basicly got screwed.Next year my moms trying to make me go back to shcool again but im 16 and this isnt fair im very smart and i dont feel like doing 9th grade for the 3rd time and im also scared if i go back to school im not going to be able to complete it again and then ill have to reapeat 9th AGAIN I asked her if i could just get my GED and move on but she says it the easy way out...i dunno what to do

I feel like a drop out and it isn't fair?
You need to go back, hon. Don't settle for a GED. It sounds like you are just being lazy.

You need to go back and learn all about punctuation.
Reply:GED isn't the easy way out by any means. It is extremly hard to get a GED and many people fail it the first time because you are taking a big test about stuff that most highschools don't even test on. My exhusband got his GED at 23 years old and it was stressful on him and he said the test was horrible and worse than even the profieciency testing so i have to say your mom is wrong about that being the easy way out because it isn't, it is just a necessary thing for some to do. I actually had to have a home tutor through my highschool for Senior year because I got such horrible anxiety attacks otherwise I would have dropped out too. Can you talk to your school councler about some other options like homeschooling through the school itself?
Reply:ask your mom if she will homeschool you. tell her you don't want to be in class with a bunch of kids 2 or 3 years younger than you.
Reply:I know how you feel I missed the first semester of my 8th grade year for the same things you are having trouble with. It is harder for you because you are in the 9th and have to get credits and things. I was able to take my work home and do it then turn it in why I was out. But high school is harder to do that with sometimes. My sister had this problem and quit school at like 14. She is going to get her ged she did home school for a while. Have you thought about going to adult ed? You work at your own pace so you can finish your classies pretty fast. The enviermant is a lot diffrent than high school so it may help. This way you can use any credits that you all ready have from when you were in high school and can still get a high school deploma. Here you can even walk with the class at the high school in your area when you finish if you want to. Don't feel bad because of this it isn't your fault and it isn't like you aren't trying to finish. All so here once you are like 18 and so far behind they kick you out of school and make you go to adult ed or get your ged if you want to finish so this may be better way to go any way. Good luck
Reply:go back. if you dont you will be kickin urself in the *** later on. you can do it. highschool isnt so bad so just suck it up, be a man, and finish school. in the end you'll be glad you did it
Reply:if your serious about your education you wont let OCD or anxiety disorders get in your way, its all about will power. try finding help, GED's are looked down upon because what they tell people is that you just couldnt handle high school. Go back to school and get a diploma, it'll be worth it in the end i promise
Reply:Dont b laze
Reply:It sounds to me like you are serious about your education, you are just afraid, and rightfully so. I would suggest asking your Mom to bring you to talk to your school counselor so all three of you can put your heads together to find a solution for you. Adult education sounds good, but you need all the facts. What exactly will you be missing by bypassing "regular" highschool. Will a college or university look disfavorably on you with a GED? Does the school have any way to support you so you can pass 9th grade definetly? Is it possible you can get some credits for the other schooling you took if you wrote some tests?

Good Luck!
Reply:I'll admit, it would probably suck being in the 9th grade 3 times...

but, i wouldn't settle for a GED, UNLESS...

you know what you want to do when you graduate, if you don't and you just get your GED you could of wasted the time figuring it out IN school.

GOOD LUCK!
Reply:well im kinda in the same situation im in 9th grade now and i have been very sick for like over 3 months and the doctor didnt want me to go back to school..so i dropped out and i was trying to get into online courses but our local school didnt offer it and when we found one that did they were already over for the summer so now ive missed everything from practicly the whole 2 semester and i just want to get my ged or something because this one guy hes the truency officer i think for our school district told me i could take all of my umm I not sure what there called sorry but like the tests just to finish school early..lol and i would probely pass them all but i still feel like a drop out and a failer and it really not my fault cause the doctor still dont know whats wrong with me
Reply:Homeschooling's great man, I would consider it if your mother is willing to do it. I passed highschool in 11th grade, got my diploma and went to community college for two years before I transferred to a university as a junior. Homeschooling's the bomb man, do it if you can.
Reply:Just find an accredited online school. Redo 9th grade in 3 months and then do 10th grade in the rest of the year.
