I was wondering what is wrong with my knee,its my right knee,numb,big lump around it.?

i was in a car accident 3 yrs ago i was the passenger and my knee ended up in the glove box due to me not having my seatbelt on*we were just exiting the wendy's and i was just putting it on when we got hit* and i was in my own accident 4 months later. now its my right knee there is a large lump to the left or i suppose the inside and below my knee. it is inside there are no cuts or anything. it was just bruised when i got in the accident but obviously ive aggravated it in the second accident and just walking with it. i get dead leg at night and when i move a certain way my whole knee cap cracks. i have n health insurance so my doctor just suggested just going to a sports medicine office and saying i have knee pain. i dont know if its liquid in there and if by now its solidified but im worried. i dont know if i have to get it drained or if i'll need surgery. any suggestions? i mean would a regular xray show whats going on or should i get an MRI?

It sounds like water on the knee. Google It and it will tell you the symptoms. Hope this helps!!
Reply:id have to say that you probobly got it swollen from the inside but what your doctor said is probobly best to do
Reply:It could be a seperated patella. I had that from direct impact on my knee. Their isn't much you can do except ibuprofen to keep down inflamation and exercises to strengthen your knee and surrounding muscles to tighten it back to position.
Reply:Get a MRI. When you make appointment tell office you have swelling, numbness, a lump%26amp; your entire kneecap cracks. You could have a clot also.


I suggest you get it checked out as soon as possible.


The MD you went to see sounds like a jerk. Would he not see you because you don't have insurance?
