I found a bug on a leaf, what is it?

Hi, I'm a person who loves animals and nature. I spent an hour outside looking a nature, (please no rude comments).

I looked at a leaf, and it looked pretty cool. Then I saw a tiny, tiny light green bug, that looks like a grass hopper, but really tiny.

Just wanted to tell you what the leaf looks like:

- the stem is long, with tiny leafs on it. The leaf was a big silverish, light green.

Do you know what the bug could be?

You could even help me even better if you add detail about what the leaf is called... but you don't have to.

So what is the name of the bug, and does it bite?

It might be a leaf bug (they are literally called leaf bugs. They are part of the True Bug family). There are all different types of leaf bugs ranging in sizes. This picture is pretty general for a leaf bug. And no, they won't bite.

Reply:Could be a baby praying mantis. Or possibly an aphid!! I'll link you to both. It might help to know where you are to know what it could possibly be. Also...you can take the bug (alive preferably) to your local extension office. They will identify it for free!!
