I have Severe Restless Lehs Syndrome (SRLS) and it is ruining my life.?

I have SRLS, and currently take 5mg of Repreve daily.

It cost me $300 a month, but makes me so depressed I am finding it hard to cope.

Mirapax (Pramipexole) is being released in my country next month, I am swithching straight away.

Do you think this may help, and any other suggestions that may help me?

ps Can you take Madopar with these drugs and would that help?

How bad is your SRLS?

You need to weigh your options.

Is being depressed worse or better than having the full effects of RLS?

My suggestion is to switch to Mirapax, and if that doesn't work, try taking small iron supplements. Iron can help increase ferritin levels, which helps 60% of people with RLS. Taking too much iron, however, can harm you, so you cannot take it as a medicine.

Requip is also a possible medicine choice.
Reply:my legs started to go crazy at the end of my first pregnancy,20 years ago ,when the baby came the problem was gone ,untill i got pregnant again and it was worse ,id be up all night doing deep knee bends warm baths and i would end up having to sit on the toilet with the runs wich when that was over i was finally able to pass out(my intestines were over crouded from baby)

same scenereo with third child ,only now even not currently pregnant i get ressless legs at night but i notice it is usually when i have over eaten and the full intestines seem to pres on a nerve or something ,because it is still relieved by having to go to the comode !
Reply:Mirapex helps my RLS there is one side effect to watch out for. Some people not many have hallucinations when taking it. I don't but my friend at the sleep clinic had them when he took it they adjusted his dose. It's rare but does happen. Hope you can get the meds soon, it has done wonders for me.
